Laptop LCD Screen Repair

For those of you who have a laptop, the most common issue you might face as far as hardware is concerned is the malfunctioning or broken laptop screen. For those of you using a laptop computer, laptop-screens indeed are essential ones. Even though laptop screens are incredibly delicate hardware pieces, they are shockingly easy-to-fix even if you aren’t a technically sound person.

Let’s now proceed to see how to go about a laptop LCD screen repair.

Broken lcd screen repair

Before deciding to go ahead and replace the laptop screen, you can troubleshoot the situation. While it is obvious that damage to the laptop screen would need full replacement, other sort of damages which might be visible on your laptop-screen wouldn’t necessarily be because of the screen. This is the main reason why laptop LCD screen repair requires troubleshooting.

Pixel Problems:

There are probabilities that the pixels on your laptop might have been damaged and this probably had made your screen difficult to view. Your laptop utilises ‘liquid crystal display’ or LCD to display images that are the finished products of 1000s of pixels. If few pixels get damaged in one portion, this could ruin the overall display on the screen. In such cases, it would be appropriate if you would remove the laptop screen to replace them afresh.

Laptop screens display faint images:

Laptop screens have back light to improve the visibility of the screen. But most of the times the back-light can make your screen difficult for reading. However, the issue can be because of the simplest problem that the latches would have got stuck in the closed position. Consider that you opened the laptop and the switch remained in the closed-position, in this case the system remains ON but the backlight remains off. To resolve this, find the backlight switch which is situated near the hinges. Then try opening and closing your laptop few times, even after doing this if it does not work, gently tap the latch. laptop-screen-repair

broken laptop

November 12th, 2009 anonymous No comments
Dear Creativeit,
I have a sony laptop that has problem with start-up. At first the problem was with normal start-up and the machine was giving DGBHELP.dll error message and then crashing but started normally in safe mode. To fix the problem I have tried to re-install the system software using the 4 CDs supplied with the laptop but I only got as far as wiping the data and the restart did not run to completion/re-installation due to a Disk access error. Does this sound like a problem that can be rectified?
Best regards,
Alistair

IBM X60

Good Afternoon

We have a Lenovo Thinkpad X60s which is making a strange noise and quickly overheating (so I suspect it is the fan that is broken).

Is this something you can look at and repair for us? If so, what is the process to do this and how much will it cost?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kate
